Social Media for Everyone

Social media today is a fantastic communication tool. Social media sites allow users to communicate all kinds of information with their friends and family around the world. The other advantage to social media is that it is now known for being a platform which generates new leads for businesses.

Social Media for People
Today social media has changed the way people view the internet by becoming an extremely useful source of communication. Most families have at least one form of mobile device be it a smartphone, ipad, or e-reader on top of having a computer or laptop.

This allows people to send messages on the fly without having to use a phone. Remember those times when you needed to reach someone and they never returned your phone calls? Now all you have to do is send someone a message via a text or use a feature like Facebook Messages and Chat. You send your message and that person receives an instant notification. This way you can easily remind your kids of an appointment or ask your spouse to stop at the grocery store on the way home.

Social media is all about sharing and this can be all types of information. People love to share especially if it is something that they like or find amusing. They don’t think twice about using the share button to let their friends know about the funny or cute photo they just saw. Sharing can go viral and it is not uncommon for posts to generate thousands of shares and views if the content is right.

Social Media for Business
Companies and small businesses are now incorporating social media into their marketing plans. These platforms allow a business owner to perform research, to stay on top of current trends and to post information pertaining to their own business such as new products and special sales.
Any business can set up a social media presence and then use these accounts for marketing and promotional methods. It is important, though, to keep your sites up to date and full of relevant information. Make sure you add plenty of images and photos as these are the ones people like to share most often.

Posting feedback from your customers and clients is another way to promote your business or service. Don’t forget to let your customers know about your social sites and add share buttons to your website and blog as well.
